Our Story

Illuminate Security was founded by Sydney-based former banking & cloud security experts, with extensive experience in the Cyber Detection & Response industry.

Working for some of the world’s largest companies, we lived and breathed the complexities and challenges faced by the security industry. Like others in this space we suffered from burnout due to unrealistic expectations. This was exacerbated by exorbitant software and hardware technology costs for tooling that would change with the investor cycle and marketing hype winds.

It simply made no sense and we realised that a fundamental shift in the business model of threat detection was needed if we were to ever move the needle.

The idea was born – if we make telemetry data safe to share with trusted security experts, and add a “pay for results” business model, we can horizontally scale the security experts of the world.

In line with our mission to uplift detection and response for all, security experts are able to help many organisations in a truly cost effective manner, where everyone wins.
